Terry MacGillivray was renowned around Peachland for being an Elvis Tribute
Artist. Although he had a passion for music,
specifically Elvis Presley music, he never pursued his
dream of being a singer at a young age. However, with
the support and encouragement from Anita one night at
Karaoke, Terry’s passion was renewed. Several year’s
later, Elvis Express was created and Terry was
having the time of his life fulfilling his dream of
being an Elvis Tribute Artist and bringing smiles of joy
to the audiences that he loved to perform for.

Thus, an idea started to form and Terry
MacGillivray founded Dancin’ Barefoot.
He created and organized this summer music event in
2007. He wanted to share and encourage entertainers to
fulfill their dreams and passions as an artist. In
addition, he wanted to have an outdoor concert for all
the local talent to be able to perform in their
community and for everyone to enjoy a rockin’ concert.
Sadly, Terry MacGillivray passed away
suddenly April 18, 2008. His wife Valerie MacGillivray
and daughter, Patricia Cheyne decided to keep Terry’s
dream alive and incorporate their own visions for Dancin’ Barefoot.
Patricia and Valerie added the Teen Talent Competition
in the afternoon of the concert. The 2010 competition
was very successful and they are looking forward to the 3 rd Annual Competition in 2011. In
collaboration with the Teen Talent Competition, Patricia
Cheyne has founded a charity, T-Mac Music for
Children to encourage and assist young artists in
their musical paths. |
As in the past, the event will take place at Cousins
Park on Beach Avenue across from swim bay in Peachland,
BC. The concert will be on July 16, 2011 with the Teen
Talent Competition in the afternoon and a line-up of
talented performers in the evening. There will also be a
variety of vendors and a beer garden available
throughout the day and evening.
We would like to thank all of our performers, volunteers
and sponsors for their generous support and look forward
to our 2011 concert.
